Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

The benefits of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), are being discussed more publicly in recent years. More information has been made available about older clinical studies that had been done to study the effects of Sex Hormone Replacement Therapy in women. The earlier studies often used the names Estradiol and Synthetic Estrogen interchangeably. It is now known, that it is not accurate to do so. The same applies to Progesterone and Progestin, they are not the same.

Synthetic Sex Hormones are not equivalent in action to Bioidentical Sex Hormones.

Perimenopause and Menopause result in changes to the bodies production of sex hormones, which can lead to a variety of symptoms. The benefits of having optimal sex hormone activity, go beyond relieving symptoms such as hot flashes, and include benefits such as improved bone and cardiovascular health. Conditions such as recurrent Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), can be improved by improving vaginal lubrication.
